Expo Recap: CEDIA 2012

on Monday, 10 September 2012.

We just spent 3 days in Indianapolis at the 2012 CEDIA Expo. At this, one of the largest electronics expos in the country, we feasted our eyes on the most exciting technologies to date that 400,000 square feet could contain.

Now, we report back with ISS'S FAVORITE 0.001 PART OF THE EXPO (or our top 4 picks)!

Really, you should be excited too.

1. Sony's 4k television. Ever look out a window and wish your TV's picture was that clear? How about clearer? Well, just so you know an image that pristine would be the result of 3,840x2,160 pixels, and it exists! As cheesy as it sounds, when we saw the 4k TV, our jaws dropped like we had unexpectedly run into the Grand Canyon. This technology is a sight to behold. The 4k will set you back 25k, but it is almost hard to believe they can put a price on something so majestic.

2. Future Automation's TV lift. Make TV come to you. With Future Automation's TV lift, you enjoy TV from the comfort of your bed without the wires or wall space. TV rolls up from a concealed location and returns once you are finished. This lift can be placed in most foot board, and is the brand most architects trust. It is the simple, sleek solution to having a TV in the bedroom.

3. Electric Mirrors. Going back to the issue of space constraints, electric mirrors step in with a solution for concealing entertainment equipment while making the room look bigger. When the TV is off, all you see is a stylish mirror. When the TV is on, you see, well, the TV. Unless you want to see both the mirror and the TV; you can do that too. A great choice for small rooms and bathrooms, electric mirrors are cool and convenient.

4.  Sonance's Invisible Speakers. Where have these speakers been all our lives? Seriously, speakers that hide in-wall, can be painted or wallpapered, and sound great? Who doesn't want these? No more bulky media consoles. No more wasted space. Invisibile speakers are as practical as they are ingenious. Good work, Sonance.
